The maker of Tamiflu is going to scale back production due to the fact that production has caught up with the orders on hand. In the event of a pandemic it will take four months to restart production. Read the USA Today story

The federal government says that in the event of a flu pandemic, schools should be closed, ballgames and movies should be cancelled, and work hours should be staggered to make buses and subways less crowded. Read the New York Times story

On the 3rd of this month the U.S. government released it's 227 page plan to deal with a pandemic. The plan says that local and state governments must not count on the federal government to rescue them. It also recommends "social distancing" for individuals during a pandemic. Persons at work should stay 3 feet away from each other. Read the USA Today story
